MovingSkin Tags Removal: Where to Begin

November 14, 2018by was73100

There are several skin tags removal procedures worth considering, in that they’re each simple, yet highly effective.

The first thing you should get clear about is why you want to remove the tag in the first place. I say this because unlike other types of skin growths, skin tags are always benign, which is another way of saying that they are completely harmless.

What’s more, most dermatologists don’t recommend they be removed unless the patient absolutely insists.

But this is not to say there aren’t any good reasons to remove them. For instance, if a tag is continually being snagged on a piece of clothing or jewelry, then it could become sore and cause mild discomfort.

Furthermore, sometimes they can cause us to feel uncomfortable for cosmetic reason, which is perfectly normal.

In either case, if you decide to have one or more of your skin tags removed, then you may want to start at your local health food store. Meaning, several vitamins and herbs have proven effective at removing these growths, including tea tree oil, bloodroot and vitamin E.

While relatively inexpensive, the only possible drawback to the natural approach is how long it takes to dissolve the tag. So if you decide to go this route, then you should be prepared to stick with it for at least three or four weeks.

There are also many over the counter products that are specifically formulated to remove various skin growths, including tags. In fact, if you read the labels on some of these products, you’ll find they’re mostly comprised of natural ingredients, including some that I’ve already mentioned.

In other words, you might want to do your research to see if it’s cheaper to buy one of these products as opposed to simply buying some of their key ingredients separately.

If you’re uncomfortable with the idea of trying to remove a tag yourself, which is perfectly understandable, then it’s probably best to make an appointment with your dermatologist.

Your doctor can remove a tag in a variety of ways, but often times they simply cut it off with a scalpel or pair of surgical scissors. This approach is great because it’s relatively painless and the healing time is short.

On the other hand, your doctor might elect to use a slightly more complex procedure, like electro-surgery or cryotherapy. These procedures employ temperate extremes on opposite end of the spectrum to get the job done.

Specifically, electro-surgery uses heat to burn the skin tissue, while cryotherapy using freezing cold temperatures to destroy the skin cells.
